Inspired Design: Genesis Jewelry

In the beginning was the stone......so begins the story of Genesis Jewelry, a wonderfully creative and artfully appointed accessories company founded and created by Corinne Anderson.  Corinne began Genesis Jewelry literally with one stone.  She was out shopping ones day at a flea market and found a unusual piece of turquoise, created a ring and began to wear it.  Everywhere that Corinne when around her town people would ask her about  the ring.  One day someone asked to buy it and the rest is history.
Currently crafting her fifth season of jewelry, Corinne is positive and excited about future creative projects.  She is starting to give jewelry making lessons in the fall, has her trend and pattern book set for Spring 2013 and has sold her 515th piece!! Looking to add anklets to her collection for Summer 2013, expansion and selling her jewelry through publications and statewide events are near future plans.
"To be able to turn my creative passion into a profitable and successful job has always been my goal.  Getting to see it come true has felt better then what I imagined." said Corinne.
Specializing in career focused pieces that work for every work environment, Corinne crafts creative pieces that add a touch of personal style and color.  Timeless yet on trend, Corinne's jewelry can be ordered custom made for any occasion or desired style.

Collecting Custom Jewelry

Collecting fashion jewelry is a wonderful hobby for the fashion minded.
New, ethnic, antique, pieces of every color, style and trend are a great and
colorful way to add personal flair to your wardrobe.

Shopping and selection of great custom jewelry pieces can be done at small
boutiques, flea markets, outdoor sway events, and art events.  Here are 5 tips
for creating a collection of costume jewelry:

1) Choose jewelry that is expressive of your style. If you tend toward bold
colors choose pieces that reflect this. If prefer a particular pattern or print
pick items that complement this look or echo your preferred look.

2) Remember to try yard sales, flea markets or estate sales as great options to
add styles that define historic trends. Vintage costume pieces are a great style
addition that will give a unique flavor to modern trends.

3) Add handcrafted pieces to your collection from a jewelry artist that you like.
Your knowledge and relationship with that jeweler will add a human link to the
designs and styles you choose. To contact Corrine Anderson of Genesis Jewelry about any interest in the featured items below please email her at genesisjewelry.mail.com.

4) Choose pieces that fit your lifestyle.  If your active choose pieces that
have reinforced clasps or thicker chains. If you are around water choose pieces
that resist tarnish. More delicate stones, metals, and designs should be
purchased with a clear idea of how and where to wear them to prevent damage.

5) Diversify your collection by color to provide a wide range of pieces that can
custom match or complement the colors that you wear. Keep a inventory of your
pieces so that when you shop for new items you are aware of what you need to
balance your collection or complete key looks.

Creatively Inspired, Uniquely Designed

How to Work with a Custom Jeweler To Create A Stunning Piece

Everyone dreams of jewelry that defines their image, a endless
quest for the perfect piece.  Yet the only way to make sure that you get there is through working exclusively with a creative jewelry that can share and express your vision for personal jewelry that matches your individual style.
Here are a few key tips to working with a jeweler to ensure that
your vision becomes reality that you will enjoy season after season.

Ask to see prior work

Jewelers will keep pictures or samples of their work and before
you choose who you will work with it is a great idea to study some of
the pieces that they have made in the past.  Look for quality of
construction, visual harmony in colors chosen and the range of styles
that the jeweler has created.  Jewelers love to show off their talent and
successful projects and this is a good opportunity to explore the
personal style of the potential jeweler you might choose.

Know what you want

There are certain things that have to be communicated to your
jeweler to ensure that you receive the look you are hoping for.  Be sure
to express your ideas about color, size, design ideas, and specific point
about length, stones for each piece you are looking to buy. Remember,
the whole point of going custom with jewelry to get what you want so
make sure you have a well thought-out out plan.
If you are going to leave style and design choices up to the
jewelry designer at least let them see, get a description of a outfit or
dress you might be trying to purchase the piece to match or your
inspiration for wanting to go custom.

Discuss the scope of the project

Don’t just choose a design and walk away.  Discuss the steps of
the project—timeframe, costs, unexpected cost, materials, approximate
start and finish dates and payment terms.  It is easy to get so wrapped
up in the excitement of a custom jewelry piece that you forget the
practical steps required to  make your dream a reality. For a consultation regarding custom jewelry with Corinne Anderson contact her at genesisjewelry@mail.com
